CBD (Cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis sativa family. Cannabis sativa has recorded many uses throughout history from industrial fiber, seed oil, food and other uses in different cultures. CBD is a compound found primarily in the flowers and leaves of the Cannabis Sativa plant. It’s one of many powerful cannabinoids found in Cannabis.

If you are new to CBD, we recommend starting at 1 drop (once/twice a day). Gradually increasing week by week until you have achieved your desired results, for more infomation read our article on CBD Oil Dosage Guidelines

Please Note: this is just a guide, what works for your pet may be different. Just remember to slowly administer CBD to your pet week by week. Start off with the recommend dosage and adjust based on results.

Our CBD products are extracted using the CO2 Extraction method. In this method, carbon dioxide is used to extract the cannabinoids and other desirable compounds from our harvested hemp plants. This extraction process is considered the cleanest method available and guarantees that our CBD oils are potent and free from any residual chemicals or solvents. This method helps ensure the purity and quality of our products for our customers.

Cannabis sativa and marijuana are close relatives, but not the same. By definition, hemp contains no more than .3% THC – the psychoactive compound that is found in higher concentration in marijuana. By contrast, hemp naturally has higher levels of CBD.

Our Full Spectrum CBD oil contains a small amount of THC, which is well below the legal limit of 0.3%. This means that you can rest assured that our products will not produce any psychoactive effects, and are fully compliant with regulations. By using a full spectrum CBD oil, you will also be able to benefit from the “entourage effect” where the presence of multiple cannabinoids and terpenes work together to provide greater benefits.

No, it cannot. CBD is a phytocannabinoid that does not produce any psychoactive effects. It does not result in feelings of euphoria or altered mental state. CBD is a non-intoxicating substance that does not have any impact on cognitive or mental functions. You can consume CBD without worrying about experiencing any negative side effects or altered state of mind.

When you get a drug test they normally use a urine or blood sample and check for the presence of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)

THC-COOH, and THC-11-oic acid are formed in the liver after the body has consumed cannabis and it is these chemicals that are tested when you go for a blood or urine test. THC-COOH doesn’t have much cross reactivity to the other non psychoactive cannabinoids such as CBD (cannabidiol), CBG (cannabigerol) or CBN (cannabinol), which means if you have taken CBD hemp oil you probably won’t get a positive result on any drug test.

Theoretically it is possible if you are taking very large doses of CBD oil (above 1000-2000mg per day) due to the minute traces of THC that could build up over time. Due to differing body weight, metabolic rate and other lifestyle factors it’s possible that cbd oil containing as little 0.3% THC could show up in swabs, blood or urinalysis. Patients must determine for themselves if the severity of their condition outweighs this possibility.

Our CBD oil is made with the finest purest Coconut MCT oil as its carrier oil. The use of a carrier oil is essential in the absorption and effectiveness of CBD. This is because the human body is better equipped to process CBD when it is combined with a fatty, plant-based oil. In our CBD oil, the only ingredients used are Whole Plant Extract (Cannabis Sativa) and Oryza Sativa Pure Coconut MCT oil. The combination of these two ingredients ensures that the CBD is absorbed and processed effectively by your body, leading to maximum bioavailability and effectiveness

MCT oil is a supplement that has become popular, especially amongst athletes and body builders. The popularity of coconut oil, high in MCTs, has contributed to its use.

The Magic 7 Science-Based Benefits of MCT Oil

As the name suggests, medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil contains medium-length chains of fats called triglycerides. Due to their shorter length, MCTs are more easily digested than longer-chain fatty acids found in many other foods.

MCT oil is most commonly extracted from coconut oil, as more than 50% of the fat in coconut oil comes from MCTs.

Four different types of MCTs exist, of which caprylic and capric acid are most commonly used for MCT oil while carrying specific types have unique benefits.

Here are 7 science-backed benefits you can get from adding MCT oil to your diet.

1. MCT oil could potentially promote weight loss

Current research is mixed on this issue, but there are some potential reasons why MCT oil may be beneficial for weight loss.

MCT oil has been shown to increase the release of two hormones that can promote the feeling of fullness in the body: peptide YY and leptin.

One study found that people taking 2 tablespoons of MCT oil as part of their breakfast ended up eating less food for lunch compared to those taking coconut oil.

The same study also found a lower rise in triglycerides and glucose with MCT oil, which may also influence the feeling of fullness.

Additionally, some older studies showed that taking MCT oil could help reduce body weight and waist circumference. Researchers reported that it could help prevent obesity.

MCT oil has about 10% fewer calories than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), which are found in foods such as olive oil, nuts, and avocados.

MCTs can also be converted into ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fat when carbohydrate intake is low.

Lastly, your gut environment is very important when it comes to your weight. MCT oil may help optimize the growth of good bacteria and support the gut lining, which could also help you lose weight.

2. MCT oil is a good energy source

The body absorbs MCTs more rapidly than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), which contain more carbons in their fatty acid chains.

Due to their shorter chain length, MCTs travel more quickly from the gut to the liver and do not require bile to break down like longer-chain fats do.

In the liver, the fats are broken down to be either used as fuel or stored as body fat. Since MCTs easily enter your cells without being broken down, they can be used as an immediate source of energy.

When you’re on a ketogenic diet, MCTs can also be converted into ketones in the liver. These ketones can pass through your blood-brain barrier, making them a source of energy for your brain cells.

3. MCT could reduce lactate buildup in athletes and help use fat for energy

During exercise, rising lactate levels can negatively impact exercise performance.

Interestingly, MCTs may help reduce lactate buildup.

Furthermore, the study found that taking the MCT oil before exercise may help you use more fat instead of carbs for energy.

Even though MCTs may help increase fat burning during exercise, study results are mixed as to whether MCT oil can help you exercise better.

4. MCT could help manage epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism

Studies have shown that MCT oil may help manage helps manage conditions such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism.

Epilepsy

Researchers found that fasting increases ketone production and that this may reduce the frequency of epileptic seizures.

Since MTCs can be converted into ketones, they may be beneficial in managing epilepsy.

Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease impairs your brain’s ability to use sugar.

MCT in your diet could allow brain cells to survive better. It also blocks a receptor in the brain that causes memory loss.

One study found that a single dose of MCTs improved short-term cognition in 20 people with Alzheimer’s disease with a certain gene type, specifically APOE ɛ4-negative.

Overall, the benefits of MCT oil in Alzheimer’s disease are promising.

Autism

MCT oil may also affect children with autism. One study found positive overall improvements when using MCT oil.

Another study found that adding MCTs to a diet substantially improved autism behaviours for 6 of the 15 children involved.

Because autism is a spectrum condition, it can affect people in different ways.

This means that adding MCT oil to your child’s diet may help to varying degrees or may show no effects.

5. MCT contains fatty acids that fight yeast and bacterial growth

MCTs have been shown to have antimicrobial and antifungal effects.

Coconut oil, which contains numerous MCTs, has been shown in an older in-vitro study to reduce the growth of Candida albicans by 25%. This is a common yeast that can cause thrush and various skin infections.

An in-vitro study also showed that coconut oil reduced the growth of a disease-causing bacteria called Clostridium difficile.

Coconut oil’s ability to reduce yeast and bacterial growth may be due to the caprylic, capric, and lauric acid in MCTs.

MCTs themselves have also been shown to suppress the growth of a widespread infectious fungus in hospitals by up to 50%

6. MCT may reduce risk factors for heart disease

Some factors that increase your risk for heart disease include:

  • high cholesterol
  • blood pressure
  • inflammation
  • body mass index
  • smoking

MCT oil has been shown to support weight and fat loss. This may, in turn, help reduce your risk for heart disease.

A study of 24 overweight men found that taking MCT oil combined with phytosterols and flaxseed oil for 29 days reduced total cholesterol by 12.5%.

The same study also found better reductions in LDL (bad) cholesterol when the MCT oil mixture was added to their diet.

Moreover, MCT oil could help increase the production of heart-protective HDL (good) cholesterol.

It can even significantly reduce C-reactive protein (CRP), an inflammatory marker that increases the risk for heart disease.

Additional older studies found that MCT-oil-based mixtures can have a positive effect on other heart disease risk factors.

7. MCT could help manage blood sugar levels

MCT oil may also have benefits for those with diabetes. MCTs have been shown to reduce fat storage and increase fat burning, which can aid in managing the condition.

One small, study of 40 people with diabetes found that those who consumed MCT oil daily saw reductions in body weight, waist circumference, and insulin resistance, compared to those taking corn oil containing LCTs.

Another study found that when 10 people with diabetes were injected with insulin, they needed 30% less sugar to maintain normal blood sugar levels when they consumed MCTs, compared to LCTs.

Hemp Seed Oil and Full Spectrum CBD Oil are two completely different products. Hemp Seed Oil, which is commonly referred to simply as Hemp oil, can easily be found in most supermarkets and grocery stores. It is commonly used as a cooking oil, as well as a salad or soup dressing.

Full Spectrum CBD oil, on the other hand, is extracted from the hemp plant for its cannabinoid profile, which makes it suitable for medical use. This type of oil is taken orally or topically and can have different effects than hemp seed oil. It’s important to understand the difference between the two products, so that you can choose the right one for your needs.

The Entourage Effect

While CBD has its own benefits, a lot of research is out there that posits that the presence of other cannabis compounds enhance the positive effects. These other compounds like terpenes, other cannabinoids, and flavonoids work synergistically in what is called “the entourage effect.” A full spectrum CBD may have greater efficacy due to this effect.

Full spectrum CBD is the most effective form of CBD.

Full spectrum CBD means that the product is made using whole plant hemp extract containing the full spectrum of possible nutrients.

That means that as well as containing CBD, it contains many other cannabinoids and compounds (such as THC, CBG, CBDa, CBDv as well as various flavonoids and terpenes).

The reason full spectrum products are vastly more effective is because when these cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are consumed together, they give way to something called the entourage effect and allow your body to absorb more CBD.

What is the entourage effect?

Simply put, the entourage effect is that all the compounds in cannabis work together and when taken together are more effective than when taken individually.

When cannabis compounds such as cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids are consumed together they work in tandem to magnify the therapeutic effect of each individual compound.

It’s Less Processed

If you’re looking for a product that’s closer to nature, that’s full spectrum CBD. Broad spectrum, and especially CBD isolate, require further processing to remove (possibly beneficial) additional compounds that are naturally inherent in the cannabis plant. Full spectrum CBD is the closest to the original source profile, and for that reason is often preferred by purists.

Does Not Produce a High

While full spectrum CBD does contain trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%), this amount does not cause any psychoactive effects. With full spectrum CBD you can experience potential benefits of a full cannabinoid profile, without having to fear any possibility of a high feeling. This can be a concern for some marijuana-averse people.

Studies Are More Thorough on a CBD Combination

Studies are still in effect for many of the benefits of CBD in general. It has only recently become the exciting research topic that it is today, and science is scrambling to catch up to the hype. However, the most thorough studies have been done on the effect of CBD with THC.

A combination of THC and CBD has been found to possibly target pain caused by neuropathy and chronic illness

Another study shows that a full spectrum CBD can have a calming effect on the CNS (central nervous system) with 66.7% of patients reporting improved sleep after taking.

This isn’t to say that CBD hasn’t been shown to be effective alone, but that some of the bigger studies are looking at a full spectrum CBD. This is the reason that the scientific community talks about the entourage effect.
